5 out of 5 stars Honestly impressed   October 22, 2008

We have had this blender for over 2 years and use it every day. We have never had any problems until recently when the jar started to wear out and leak from the bottom.

I called Kitchen Aid customer service and really didn't have any hope of getting it replaced since it was outside the 2 year warranty. They replaced it anyway, free of charge! I have to say, I am impressed with the quality of this product and also with the customer service for Kitchen Aid.

3 out of 5 stars Design Flaw in KitchenAid Blender Jar   December 28, 2007

I purchased this upscale KitchenAid because I had assumed that it was better made than lower priced commonly available models and did not anticipate warranty problems. I purchased it in December 2006 from Lowe's. We rarely used it but I started using it recently for SlimFast diet mixes and almost immediately had a leakage problem in the jar base. Unlike most blenders (even other KitchenAid models) the polycarbonate jar base that spins is not removable or replaceable, and it appears to be riveted. The fact that the base is not removable for cleaning is a problem, but it is even worse that there is a rather obvious design flaw where there is no way to tighten the spinner mechanism, probably why this model is currently unavailable. KitchenAid would not honor the warranty first because I was unable to locate a sales slip even though I had registed the purchase on their site and then when I provided the purchase date they said that it was manufactured in May2006 and was therefore outside the one year warranty. A replacement jar is $64.95, a very large part of the $90+ I paid for it originally. They will not acknowledge the design flaw or even sell me a replacement at their cost. I am fed up with KitchenAid's disregard of a customer who has loyally purchased more than a dozen KitchenAid items...

5 out of 5 stars Amazing Blender   June 19, 2007

This blender ROCKS! I have been using it for 6 months now and it has chewed through everything I have put in it. Smoothies, energy shakes, and milk shakes are blended perfectly. It crushes a full load of ice with ease. Strong motor just keeps cranking the sharp blades no matter what I throw at it.

5 out of 5 stars This blender makes reliable smoothies!   May 12, 2007

I am enjoying this blender for crushing frozen fruit and ice cubes.
It make quick work of all the frozen ingredients.
It is nice that this blender automaticly starts ON in its low speed as that prevents the high splash up of the powdered mixes and blends them into the mixtures before I choose to run the blender on med or high.

The only problem that I am having is that the blade assembly in the bottom of the jar keeps losening itself. Twice that bolt nut came off during blending. I believe that I have that problem fixed by tightening it snuggly with a wrench. Tightening it doesn't seem to affect the rottation of the blades and I think it is going to stay put now.
