This is great for making smoothies in the a.m. I haven't had any problems with it - I use frozen fruit and juice and it works great. The cup is HUGE - I wish it were a bit smaller, say 12 oz. I use this almost every morning and have used it for about 2 mos. and it works fine.

It gives off some sort of burning oil smell when it's running. It can sit there and not chop up anything without constantly helping it along. And when you go to take the lid off, the base of it gets screwed on so tight while it's running, it's nearly impossible to get it off.

I am writing my very first negative product review ever! I have owned this Back to Basics Blender Express before. My first one wore out after a few years use. I make smoothies in them on a daily basis.I have no problem with it wearing out. I just recently ordered a replacement BPE3BRA3 (Back-Basic Blender). My first one arrived dead! The second one, immediately replaced by target.com(Amazon.com) arrived and I put 3 ice cubes, yogurt, frozen berries, 1 TBS of protein powder and water in it like I have for 1800 other times and the motor burned out on its first use in less that 30 seconds. The company Back to Basics has obviously cheapened this product over the years decreasing the amps in the motor or something. This was the best tool in my kitchen the past 3 years and I loved it! It is a shame they had to cheapen it up to compete with the other cheap products in the market........bad decision! Now I am stuck with it because I never anticipated the replacement unit to not work, I THREW OUT THE BOX! I am soooo disappointed! Looks like I will have to pay for the Magic Bullet!

I bought mine 3 years ago and it's worked fine since. About a year after purchase I ended up buying the extra 2 mug set. Now I guess I just have to buy the 12 & 18 oz cups and chopping blade, you can do that at the website. I don't mind, this appliance is the best personal blender I've used.

easy to clean and use, I've only had it for a few weeks now, and I am very happy with the quality at which it chops and grinds making the perfect smoothie as well as purees.
