It's difficult to rate this little mixer with stars, because it's such a unique item. It's made to fit into a place that does not have room for a stand mixer, and as such, it has some quirks that have to be dealt with. There is only one bowl that will fit, so if you need to mix two things, you have to mix one, take that out, wash the bowl, then mix the other. The beaters have to be in a certain position to be raised; otherwise, they hit the side of the bowl. But for anyone who doesn't have room for a big stand mixer, it's a wonderful little machine. I have made cookies, bread, whipped cream, and meringue with this mixer, and it did a great job on all. The dough hook is amazingly effective. I am very pleased with this mixer because I have a tiny kitchen, but if I had a lot of counter space, I'd opt for a big Kitchenaid. What led me to buy this mixer is that Cooks Country magazine rated it second to the Kitchenaid in their test of mixers. It's a gem.

I bought mine in February of 04, so I have used it for quite some time and it is just what I wanted. It is light weight, and easy to clean, plus it doesn't make a mess even if I leave the cover off when I am mixing things like cake mixes. I can just put the ingredients in the bowl and turn it on a low setting until they are moistened, then I can turn up the speed and walk away and let it finish on it's own. I don't use it for bread making because I have a bread machine. I used to do a lot of baking, but have scaled it down since my husbands heart problems, but I still do my cakes without the the oil to keep his fat intake down. It works perfectly for things like whipped topping and egg whites as well as cakes and things like that. I have moved from appliances too heavy to pick up let alone do a job with and am very happy with lightweight things now.

First I must say that Bosch's customer service is the worst I have ever seen or dealt with. They are rude and demeaning but if you never have to deal with them then this product is a joy to own and use.
It is the best thing in my kitchen. It is the very best mixer I have ever had or used and that has been plenty because I am getting up in years. This mixer out does even my Kitchen Aid by lots and it looks great on my counter. I gave away the Kitchen Aid.
It is not just a mixer because it has many attachments and that turns it into a blender, a grain & meat grinder, a cookie press, a shreeder, food processor, a berry press and on and on. You do not need to have all those other things sitting all over your kitchen taking up space because this does it all.
You might be thinking that you have tried those machines that claim to do it all but because they try to do it all they do not do anything well. That is not the case here. It really does do it all and does it better!!
I cook and bake all the time and holidays are special at my home because of all the great smells that come out of my kitchen so I need not good but great appliances. This is a great one and it saves me so much time. Its has plenty of power to handle anything I have asked it to do.
I recommend it highly but I would rather jump off a cliff then to deal with the company or their customer service.
