Amazon.com Review Designed to fit all Bosch stand mixer/kitchen machines whose model numbers begin with MUM 4, this device makes 1 quart of ice cream, sherbet, frozen yogurt, or frozen drinks in about 30 minutes (salt and ice are not necessary). The ice-cream maker has no motor and cannot operate independently of a kitchen machine. After the device's chilling chamber has been in the freezer for about 18 hours, the liquid between its walls will have thoroughly frozen. The user then puts the paddle in the chamber, locks the transparent cover in place, and turns on the kitchen machine. The user adds ingredients through an opening in the cover as the paddle turns. The chamber chills the ingredients to whatever consistency is desired, though dense treats are harder to make because the paddle churns in air. Chocolate chips, chopped fruit, nuts, and other special ingredients can be added toward the end. Storing the chamber in the freezer ensures a frozen confection is only 20 to 30 minutes away. Clad in virtually unbreakable plastic, the ice-cream maker is dishwasher-safe except for the chilling chamber. A plastic spatula for scraping the chamber, a wood cone for mixing ingredients, and an instruction booklet with recipes is included. --Fred Brack
Product Description After the ice cream maker's chilling chamber has been in the freezer for about 18 hours, the liquid in its walls will have frozen thoroughly. Put the paddle in the chamber, lock the transparent cover in place, and turn on the kitchen machine. It's that easy. Add extra ingredients through the opening in the cover as the paddle turns -- Chocolate chips, chopped fruit, nuts, and other special ingredients can be added toward the end. The chamber chills ingredients to whatever consistency is desired. Dense treats are harder to make because the paddle churns in air. Storing the chamber in the freezer consistently ensures a frozen confection is only 20 to 30 minutes away. Clad in virtually unbreakable plastic, the ice-cream maker is dishwasher-safe except for the chilling chamber. A plastic spatula for scraping the chamber, a wood cone for mixing ingredients, and an instruction booklet with recipes are included. Makes 1 quart of ice cream, sherbet, frozen yogurt, or frozen drinks in about 30 minutes (salt and ice are not necessary). The device has no motor and cannot operate independently of the Kitchen machine.Designed to fit all Bosch stand mixer/kitchen machines

Works great! May 31, 2008 Helena Kotas 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This ice cream maker works just fine. I was a bit hesitant to buy it because of the other reviews, but now I'm glad I did. I've put in two cups of whole milk cherry vanilla jogurt with a little bit of cream and in 15-20 minutes I had a nice batch of frozen yogurt. Just make sure to chill it really well. I rate it 4 stars because of the high price.
Not that happy with item. September 4, 2003 Michael A. Velto (La Mesa, CA USA) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
When I ordered this item, it never stated that it worked with a mixer. Well I do not have the mixer that goes with this ice cream maker. It did not come this all items that it stated it came with. I think it would work fine if you had the mixer that worked with it. I also think the item has been used before. Thank you Michael A. Velto
Don't waste your money October 12, 2002 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I would rate this a "0", but it wasn't an option available. I never got a decent batch of ice cream out of this product. Just a soupy mush. Tried multiple different recipes and even ran 2 separate trials with this machine next to my original, very tired Oster machine. The worn out machine made a great batch, this one, zilch.
