2 out of 5 stars Taking apart is hell   September 17, 2008
MJK (Oregon)
Juices just fine but you'll need the energy of the juice plus a valium to keep from blowing your lid when you try to take it apart to clean it. Seriously, it should not require the use of a screwdriver to pry the thing apart. It seems that the blade gets wedged into the base and at times no amount of prying will get it to pop loose. You'll get one side to pop up a bit and then when you work on the other side it all just sinks back into it's stuck position. If you are wanting to juice to lower your blood pressure then don't buy this juicer.

3 out of 5 stars juices well, but problem taking it apart   July 15, 2008
Mary Varn (Brooklyn, NY)
i have the same experience as the other reviewer with the difficulty in taking this thing apart. no problem for the first few weeks, but it gradually got more difficult to take the juice bowl off when i'm done juicing. i found that it's easier if i use a flat head screwdriver under it to pop it off, but that really shouldn't be necessary. and i feel like i'm going to break it each time. i can't for the life of me figure out why it's so hard to take off. the parts all look fine.
i'm a little confused because i clearly remember seeing good reviews for this when i bought it, but now there are just the two star ones. when i look back at my account history, it tells me that i bought this juicer instead: Melitta JM300 Juiceman Jr 2-Speed Juicer - but that picture isn't my juicer. my juicer is exactly the one for this very product page. oh well.
other than the big problem of removing the juice bowl, the machine juices great. i'm torn between a 2 and 3 star rating, but i'll give it 3 since there have been no mechanical problems and the juice is great. i regularly juice carrots, ginger, leafy vegetables, apples, etc.

2 out of 5 stars good juice, but difficult juicer   July 6, 2008
J. Clary (Astoria, NY United States)
A friend of mind bought this juicer from Amazon.com, and used it about two times before it became too much of a hassle for her. She is loaning it to me right now, and I've had it for about a month. I must say the juice is fantastic. I would love to use it at least once a day, but taking it apart for cleaning is damn near impossible! I was able to get it apart for the first few weeks, but now it's getting harder. The other morning, I had to get my husband to take it apart for me! So now I can only juice when he's around (cleaning does need to happen right away - as with all juicers). So, if your strong, you'll love it. Otherwise, you may want to find a more expensive model.

1 out of 5 stars don't buy this item, it's junk.   January 3, 2008

I bought this as a christmas gift for my dad and it broke in under an hour of use. Definitely not happy with this item and I have to return it to Target in person. Too bad it was delivered to Minnesota and I live in San Diego. Not happy with this product at all and won't be buying from this manufacturer again.
