3 out of 5 stars china   November 24, 2008

This is made in china it had to go back a second time it was still damaged. The packing of the oven is not right, the botom pan was damaged on both machines. This is the botton drip pan which is very important. The oven sits on the pan the packing is not thick enough and the pan is bent and has large chips because the weight of the oven crushes it.

Roasting is OK, but the baking of cakes you need to adjust time even though the manual says you don't, my bundt cake came out like a large hocky puck.

The door is also off because of the packing. While it is cheaper than others, there is an Italian oven 1.5 cu ft available, I forgot the name check it on google, I think you will be happier although it's twice the price. Amonzon sells it also.

1 out of 5 stars Haier RTC1700SS Convection Oven 1.5 Cubic Foot   November 7, 2008

Resist purchasing this oven. It is large and beautiful, and the price is too good to be true. Other ovens of this size cost twice as much. That should be the first clue that the oven is of not a good value. My first cooking test was my last. The kitchen and dining room filled up with thick smoke in about 35 minutes. I was in another part of the house. I turned it off, checked for any insulation left inside, and tried again. The chicken did get brown, but the smoke came blowing out. I noticed that the fan never came on. The Haier customer service told me not to try to use it again. They really emphasized this. I think the reason is because this operation could possibly burn the house down. They were super nice and said they would send labels to return the oven. They first said they would then send me a new oven, then later said they would just refund the purchase price. It has been two months and nothing has happened except that I call them every week to check the status. They are still super nice and have my file number and always give me hope. In the meantime I have purchased a 1/4 size Cadco Oven from Chefs for $499 and free shipping. Cadco has all good reviews. I have just resigned myself to cheerfully waiting for my refund. Stay away from this oven.

1 out of 5 stars Works well but delivered damaged   August 18, 2007

Delivered with a damaged tray. Replacement seems unavailable and thus far required 40 minutes on hold with customer service. Customer service is non existent and product is too expensive for no service.

This oven works well but has only single pane glass in door also it has very little insulation and the eletronics and dial seem much to cheap for this product I think I would try the costco product next time still I like the oven

5 out of 5 stars convection oven   March 9, 2007

I purchased this convection oven for my Mother, who is 83 and her oven in her apartment had quit working. She loves it. She enjoys baking so much and she found this oven to be so user friendly and large enough for the cooking utensils that she has. I doubt that she will ever use the rotissery part, but she has it if she decides that wants to use it.
