Greatest Gift I've Ever Gotten!!! April 17, 2008 M. W. Clayton (United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I received this roaster as a Christmas gift from my Mother after having borrowed hers and begging to keep it! It couldn't be easier to use (idiot proof as I would call it) and there's almost nothing it won't make! I've used every feature - cooking, baking, steaming, buffet style serving - and have never been disappointed in the least. The 'instruction manual' gives cooking/baking/steaming tips that I've found to be right on, so even a novice will feel like a pro right from the start. Clean-up is a breeze! (Roast & Veggies; Fish, Rice & Veggies; Pork Roast, Sauerkraut, Potatoes & Dumplings; ALL IN ONE PAN!!!) Even the things I've baked (breads turn out great!) just washed right off with very little effort. There is of course the need for the initial 'burn off' that some have found annoying, (do it OUTSIDE to avoid the home permeating smell) but after it's been done you never have to do it again so I found it far less than an issue for me given the 'rewards' you receive in return! The only way this product could get better is if I had another one so I could avoid my oven/stove all together when making larger holiday meals! If you're looking for something to make dinner time quicker and easier for yourself, or if you're looking for a fantastic gift for anyone's kitchen, (excellent wedding/house warming gift!!) this is it!!

As soon as the roaster was plugged in, there was a strong electrical smell, and the cord was very hot to the touch within just a moment. We were not able to use the roaster at all.
Product fulfilled expectations November 12, 2007 K. Jones 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this product specifically to use as a buffet server for a party we were having. It was packaged nicely. The package contained detailed and clear instructions on how to use the product. It worked very well, keeping our food warm all evening. It was also very easy to clean. I know I will get continued enjoyed use out of this product in the future.
18 Quart Roaster Oven October 1, 2007 Michael W. Archer 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
The Roaster Oven I received was not the same as the item depicted in the picture. The model number is the same, but the one received seems to be an older out of date model. I wanted the one that was pictured with the Black Insert. The one I received has a Grey Insert. I could have purchased the one I received for less money on a different site. This seems to be an on-going problem when I make purchases from Amazon. They don't provide Customer Service numbers to call on the paperwork either. Very hard to talk to somebody on the phone.
pathetic packing for a great product March 17, 2007 Marilyn A. McCarthy (Rocky River, Ohio USA) 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
The roaster is a wonderful product that I own, therefore I ordered it as a gift. The way it was shipped, however was terrible. The carton it was in was way too large and not properly cushioned. The box that contained the roaster was very badly abused. It looked as if it had been sold previously and retaped. The box was also badly scraped and scratched. Fortunately I was able to retape it and the contents didn't appear to be damaged. I reported this to customer service and John was very sympathetic but could do much else since I needed this gift and had no time to send it back. I would hope in the future that Amazon improves it's packing by training the packers and making sure that they use their new found skills.
