Product Description The 5-quart round Crock-Pot is large enough to cook four to six chicken breasts with vegetables or enough chili or soup for four to five people. The easy-to-use programmable timer turns on and off with the push of a button and lets you choose among time settings of 4 6 8 and 10 hours. When cooking time is complete the Crock-Pot automatically shifts into warming mode which keeps food at the right eating temperature but doesn t overcook it. The exterior of this Crock-Pot is white plastic that wipes down easily and matches the d cor of most kitchens. Plastic handles provide a secure and comfortable grip for transporting the cooker. The Crock-Pot s internal liner is made of durable stoneware that is attractive enough to go from cooker to tabletop to serve your meal. The liner also has a stick-resistant coating and is dishwasher-safe to make clean-up easy. The glass lid lets you peek at your food while it cooks and is also dishwasher safe.
Amazon.com Review The original slow cooker, the Crock-Pot was first introduced by Rival in the 1970s and has proved to be much more than a fad. I HATE THIS CROCK POT!!!! October 5, 2008 Sophie (Atlanta, GA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had a problem with this crock pot from the first day I received it and tried it out less than a year ago. The oval top never fit snugly on the ceramic base which makes me think that is the main reason everything I cooked in it dried out. I contacted Rival and told them that not only did the top not fit securely on the ceramic base but the ceramic base itself wobbled around inside the metal pot. I was told they were "made that way." Oh sure. As if that wasn't bad enough the last time I made a meal the entire ceramic base had hairline cracks inside and outside of it. After cleaning it I stored it away in plastic in a box over the summer and just took it out today to use. Imagine my surprise to see every single crack had spores/mold growing from them, inside and out the ceramic base. I've contacted the company but I'll probably be told it's meant to be that way. I'm not sure now whether to throw it out in the trash or call the Environmental Protection Agency to see what's sprouted in it...
great crockpot September 22, 2008 Laura B. Mccarty (austin, tX) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use this crockpot only for making liquid soap so I can't speak to it's food-cooking capabilities. Having said that, it seems to keep the temperature constant and it operates without any problems. I would recommend it.
I love it July 29, 2008 Cheryl Demattico (new jersey) This crock ppot is great has a timer and is easy to clean . you can set temp and time very easy to use.
No complaint! July 26, 2008 Ginger2008 (Wilmington, DE) I have this crockpot for 5 years. And I've been using it very often because I'm a busy woman who has limited time to cook in the kitchen and this crockpot help me alot. So far I have no complaint, it work just fine and I really like the feature, after you cook for few hours it will be automatically setting to 'warm' feature.. so if you're not home yet, it will not continue cooking your food, just keep it warm. I think it's great. Recently I bought another one from Amazon because my best friend's mom just lost the house because of fire. She's really happy with the gift and will use it often since she'll be busy with renovation of the house.
Yippee - It's not just me!! July 16, 2008 K (Alaska) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had this crockpot for about 6 months and thought there was something wrong with ME! I was so glad to read these reviews (while searching for a new crockpot). This pot burns everything, even on low. Do not waste your time purchasing it!
