The removeable insert is a great idea. This easily makes 2-3 meals worth, so you can freeze the extras. It did burn the bottom of the Slow Cooker Lasagna I made, though. I had it on low for 8 hours, which was what the recipe specified, and the bottom scorched, anyway.
