1 out of 5 stars I see that Amazon has stopped selling this...   April 12, 2008

...and I can see why.

Ordered one in mid-January, it worked really well until yesterday. I've been making bread 3-4 times a week so don't think the breakdown was due to excessive use. I expect products like this to give years of service. It didn't.

All the buttons still work so I know it's on, but instead of the paddle turning there is a clicking sound.

Had this for 3 months. We use it mostly to make dough, baking the bread in the oven. The machine works well, fairly quietly and without shaking while kneading (unlike the old Breadman that finally broke down). The tall and narrow pan also does not leave unmixed dough on the edges of the pan, which did happen in the old machine.

After the first try, which I flubbed, the bread made is tasty. I find bread mixes an easy way to have specialty breads.

My wife and I have used the "corner bakery" for about a month with excellent results. On Thanksgiving, we made a back-up batch of rolls, just in case my Mom's and Sister's didn't turn-out ... guess what, the breadmaker's rolls won hands-down. Wow, and my Mom's a 50's era professional housewife. ...though she hadn't made home-made rolls in awhile.

The key we've learned is to watch the dough-ball in the first 15 minutes of the machine's use -- add water when the ball looks flakey, or add flour if the dough is too wet. This tip, and others, is found in the beginning of the recipe book.

5 out of 5 stars Experienced bread machine user delighted with Breadman!   May 6, 2007

Excellent results the first time! Prior to the Breadman, I had purchased an Oster 5838 to replace a worn out Regal breadmachine. The Oster produced over-cooked sunken loaves every time despite a) adjustments to the recipe and b) even using my own tried & true white bread recipe. I was pleased to have excellent results with the Corner Bakery on the first try. Also pleased with the quality of the pan (heavy duty), the additional features of the machine (like butter and desserts) and the quality of the manual and cookbook provided. I would definitely recommend the Breadman Corner Bakery.
