Product Description In the stainless and white combination, the new Krups GVX coffee mill lets you adjust the bean fineness with exact precision - it has 17 settings from fine to coarse so it is easily adapts to any type of coffee maker, French press or espresso maker. The container on top holds eight ounces; below is the special Burr milling system that grinds your beans to the fineness you've selected, preserving the aroma and avoiding overheating. The burr grinders can be removed for easy cleaning. The dial on front lets you adjust from 2 to 12 cups; on bottom is the removable container that fills with your freshly ground beans, ready for brewing.

OK but not great, and then it failed December 5, 2008 Bruce Reed (Orinda, CA) I owned this for about 1 year before it ultimately failed. I would rate it, when working, as 3 star--it did produce a grind of coffee that you could tailor to your needs. Fine was very fine, near powdery, coarse was definitely coarse. But it was not a real even grind. For example on the coarser grinds you'd still get some powdery stuff (makes a notable difference when you're using a press pot). Cleaning was a pain. You had to do it pretty frequently and it was a messy bother. It is distinctly cheaper than some of the competition, though, and I would have been content if not totally happy with it except that it broke. Just gave up the ghost one day. Stopped grinding. That send me out to buy a comparably priced Capresso, which I'll not review here except to say that it did not hold up, either. That brought me to the higher priced Capresso (the "Infinity" Conical Burr Grinder), which has been an absolutely FABULOUS grinder.
motor is weak November 25, 2008 Larry K. Roberton (Trenton, ON.) I purchased this machine at Starbucks because I thought they knew something about coffee. I was wrong! The motor is too weak and the machine constantly stalls out (set at medium). I have to hold it and shake it every time I want to grind coffee and re-push the start button every minute. I am looking for a machine with a more powerful motor and I am willing to pay more. LR
One grind grinder November 9, 2008 Phil This coffee grinder ground coffee the same consistency despite the setting. It didn't work for a french press as it was not coarse enough.
Dissapointed in the short life-span November 8, 2008 Coffee drinker (Seattle) This grinder is smallish, quiet, and grinds evenly... for a while. After about a year (during which it has been cleaned regularly), it stopped taking beans into the grind mechanism - resulting in an uneven amount of ground coffee. In addition, it is also very messy - grounds get all over the place around the grinder while it is working, worse than other grinders I've used. Very frustrating... definitely not worth the price.
Not good for the price October 26, 2008 temnik (NJ, USA) I had to return it. It does not grind well (as in coarse) enough for french press, makes a lot of dust instead. Receptacle container is made of cheap plastic that causes coffee grounds and dust cling to it. If you're looking for a garden variety grinder for medium fineness (for drip), $15 blade-type models would do the job for a fraction of price.
