A good little wine cooler, but... September 2, 2008 M. J. Walters (Chicago, IL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm going to be the naysayer here, not because I don't like the cooler because I do, very much. But because there are certain issues I encountered that I think need to be mentioned. First, it can be persnickety. You have to leave such-and-such much room around it, behind it, above it, etc. You can't put anything heavy on top of it, and probably shouldn't put anything at all on top of it. You have to make sure it's level... and yes I know all of this makes a certain amount of sense but when you're told as much rather forcibly in an otherwise skimpy manual, you start to wonder if it isn't going to be a problem. One of the other things the manual warned about was temperature/humidity. Apparently it doesn't like temperatures too hot or too cold, or humidity one little bit, but the manual never actually comes out and tells you what might happen if it gets to be too hot, too cold or too damp. That much I think I can tell you: It beeps at you. For the first few days I had it on my sun porch, which was the only place I could use it effectively, and it beeped on and off for about 48 hours, sometimes for an hour or two at a time. The beeping got so annoying that I finally called Emerson to ask what to do, and was told that it doesn't do that. Nevertheless, says I, it is. The tech support guy, who seemed to not even want to bother talking about it told me to send it back because it shouldn't be doing that at all, ever, nevernevernever. Nope. Doesn't do that. Send it back. If it's not supposed to beep at all, then why does it have a beep function? I didn't really want to send it back, though, and I did notice that when the weather grew a bit cooler and drier, it all stopped, so I haven't sent it back. I'm really quite happy with it now that it's gotten a bit quieter. Perhaps it was homesick and needed to settle in, I really just don't know why there was any sort of problem. In all, I think it's a terrific little unit and I'll almost certainly be keeping it now that it's calmed down. However be aware that there might be a temperature/humidity issue, and that Emerson is no help at all, really. I appreciate the easy way in which they suggest that it get sent back, but I think that a bit of dialog about what might be the problem would have been nice.
Love it! August 31, 2008 shopper (Long Island, NY) We are always short on fridge space and wine bottles were taking up too much of it! So we purchased this and are very happy so far (1 month). Attractive behind our "bar", soundless operation, keeps every bottle at the precise temp you set. We liked the red color; matches the decor in the room.

Great product, the LCD light makes my bottles look good. Very lightweight and quite.

What a great product. This is great for me. I like wine but I don't want to feel the pressure to fill up one of the larger coolers that are available. This little guy allows me to have 8 bottles of wine ready to go anytime I need one. The manual says that you need to keep 3 to 5 bottles in it. I assume that to help the cooling system keep the unit cool. Remember this unit doesn't use refrigerant, and thats a good thing. I may someday go to larger one. But this will still be good to have in the kitchen close to where I need it and then keep a bigger one some where else in the house if the need arises. I'm not sure why they are closing out the red ones, and keeping the stainless model going, but the red is really nice to look at and doesn't show finger prints. It's quiet, and cooled to 57 degrees in just a few hours. It has a small LED light on the inside thats controlled by a switch from the outside. The only other buttons on the outside are up and down temp buttons.

this product was easy to set up and I don't have to worry about the product over heating or breaking.
