Product Description Cuisinart's powerful new 7-speed blender also has a genuine Cuisinart food processor. A heavy-duty 500-watt motor pulses, stirs, mixes, purees, chops and even crushes ice in record time. In food processor mode, users can slice, shred or process ingredients right into a 3-cup work bowl. It's big, it's powerful, and it's easy -- removable parts are dishwasher-safe!

Burned out motor November 12, 2008 TinaN (Wheaton, IL USA) I have had this since May and it has worked wonderfully. Two evenings ago, I put spaghetti sauce in the blender (it was too chunky for my kids). I turned the blender on and the blades rotated once (maybe). Suddenly, there was smoke coming out of the unit. I let it sit for a while to cool off. I tried it again, with only water inside. It wouldn't work at all. This was not a cheap blender and we did not overuse it. My daughter makes smoothies on Friday mornings. Now, I will have to try to return it.
Underpowered October 10, 2008 Lisa in Seattle 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The motor is underpowered, isn't really able to crush ice very well or make a smoothie without a lot of effort / cavitating / stop-and-start on my part. Also, if I run it for more than a minute or so (blender or food processor), the motor starts to smell a bit like it's going to burn out (this was from the very first time I used it). It works "just okay", and I'm just waiting for it to burn up so I can get something better.
great brand, great value product September 10, 2008 C. Rogers (NYC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Cuisinart is of course a well-known reputable brand, which was one of the primary reasons for purchasing this product. The other main one was the dual combo of the blender and food processor. Both are good-sized and very functional. The blade in the blender is a bit small and therefore cannot blend smaller quantities of liquid, which was a little frustrating, but I used the food processor instead and it worked fine. Overall, great price and value and allows for not having to store two large appliances in a small kitchen.
Worked Well ONE TIME September 9, 2008 J. Wilson 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We bought this product because of the large carafe and the food processor attachment. The plastic 'chrome' body of the unit looked pretty 'cheap', but was not a big issue for us. We made a batch of frozen drinks and it did a great job. When we went to make the 2nd batch the motor would not run. The unit was receiving power but the motor didn't run. Based on the reviews, I guess I'm not the only one with this problem.

This Cuisinart was a great gift for my cousin. She did really enjoy it and it is very happy with it. A great product. Thank you.
