Product Description Cuisinart lets you indulge guests and delight family with a variety of frozen desserts. With the touch of a button, this stunning brushed stainless steel dessert maker automatically starts the process. Ingredients are added to double-insulated freezer bowls through easy-pour spouts to create the smoothest, creamiest frozen desserts.
Amazon.com Review Creating either 1 or 2 quarts of ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, or frozen drinks at home takes only about 20 minutes with this Cuisinart machine, and because it features two separate 1-quart chilling chambers, it can make two flavors at once. Salt, ice, and effort are not needed. Place the machine's chilling chambers in a freezer for about eight hours to thoroughly freeze the liquid between the walls. Then position one or both of the chambers atop the power base, insert the plastic paddles in the chambers, lock the transparent tops in place, and turn on the machine. (A switch activates one or two paddles as desired.) Add the ingredients in the chambers through openings in the top as the paddles turn. The chambers chill the ingredients to whatever consistency is desired, though dense treats are hard to make because the paddles churn in air. Users can add chocolate chips, chopped fruit, nuts, and other special ingredients toward the end. The chambers are nonstick for easy cleanup. Storing them in the freezer ensures frozen confections are only 20 to 40 minutes away when the mood strikes. With its power base encased in stainless steel, this sleek machine readily wipes clean. It carries a three-year warranty against defects. A detailed instruction booklet containing many recipes is included. --Fred Brack

Another gadget stored away July 10, 2008 Richard K. Gray Like everyone else I like icecream. Thought I would make it more than I do. Used it maybe three times. Hard to clean and the freezer container take up a ton of room in the freezer.
Venting September 21, 2005 Amellia Camellia (Southwest) For $129 and s l o w UPS delivery I feel ripped off. With this item -- although it doesn't say it -- you still need to freeze the drums and, of course, in a couple of years the gel inside the drums will wear out. Stupid me! I thought it had a freezing unit in it for $129 so you just turned the switch on and you didn't need to plan a day ahead of time whether or not you'd be making ice cream. But maybe everyone else has room to keep the drums full time in their freezer. Maybe everyone else plans better than I do and isn't freezing elk, fish and fabulous fruit. Thanks for giving me space to vent.
Great ice cream with little fuss March 16, 2005 Daniel Harrell (Spring Grove, IL USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
We've had this unit a month or so and made ice cream twice. We use the Ben and Jerry's ice cream book and the results have been great. Smooth and creamy and full of flavor. It is a real treat and the unit works great. This isn't the most expensive one out there or the cheapest, but somewhere in the middle. It lives up to the product description. You will enjoy making ice cream with your kids and grand kids.
Great buy! January 4, 2005 Rigel L. Hall (Philly, PA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I looked for a long time at buying an ice cream maker. I ended up choosing this one and I am glad I did! It makes a wonderfully creamy ice cream with undetectable ice crystals. It's so easy, just pour in the mixture and let it go for about 20 minutes. You can walk away, which is great! It's only slightly noisy, nothing that bothers me, but may be annoying to some. Cleanup is simple as well, although remember to leave room for your add-ins (like chips or cookies) otherwise you'll overlow and create a mess (yes, I did that on my first time). All in all, it's a great maker for the price, I am very happy with the ease of use and clean up and it's nice to be able to make 1 or 2 quarts and to be able to make 2 different flavors!
Nice November 22, 2004 Ohiolib (Mansfield, Ohio) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this as a early x-mas gift for my mom. We've had it for only a few days. The first day I chilled the bowls for about 6 hours but our freezer is not cold enough because our first batch didn't turn out so well. I left the bowls overnight and that did the trick. I tried the mixed berry frozen yogurt and it turned out pretty well, it was very easy to make. I changed it around a little bit yesterday and instead of making the yogurt with berries I used mango pulp which you can get at asian supermarkets, just follow the recipe like the booklet and it will turn out fine. One thing about the machine I find myself doing is leaving more than 1/4 inch of space from the top of the bowl, otherwise the stuff expands over the top opening. It is easy to clean and use. The noise for me is bearable, I would not be in the same room with it but it is definitely not so bad. Make sure to read the instruction booklet before you try assembling the machine to avoid looking like a Neanderthal in front of friends and family as happened to me.
