Product Description STAINLESS STEEL TRAVEL TUMBLER,
Amazon.com Review For easy-sip, no-spill commuting, this thermos offers an ingenious solution. A lever opens the sip-hole with a light squeeze of the fingers. Relax the fingers and the hole closes. Bingo! Since the lever lies opposite the sip-hole, the Travel Tumbler works for righthanders and lefthanders. Virtually unbreakable, this lightweight, vacuum-insulated thermos travels to work or your favorite recreation spot. On arrival, and for hours afterward, coffee, tea, or soup will still be hot. Or lemonade, iced tea, or a sports drink will still be chilled. It's compact (7-3/4 inches high) and handsome. A band of soft, nonslip black rubber encircles the tapered, satin-finish exterior, ensuring a firm grip. Top, bottom, and L-shaped lever are black plastic. Fine threading ensures the twist top seals tightly, while the smooth interior cleans with sponge or cloth. Preheating or prechilling with hot or cold water is recommended. --Fred Brack

This is the best one January 8, 2009 Michael L. Brill I have had this model mug for many years. You can put ice water in it at bedtime and still have ice in the morning. Keeps coffee hot for hours too. Super design is hard to spill the fluids. Well worth the money, I baught my wife one too this time.
great product and lasts for years January 6, 2009 Laura B. (Chapel Hill, NC USA) I have had 2 of these tumblers for probably 10 years. The only reason I'm looking for another is that my teenage son's friend broke the lever handle. They keep coffee pleasantly hot to drink for over an hour. They have held up well to weekly use over the years. The size and shape fit easily in the cup holders of all my vehicles. I am surprised to hear about the cleaning issue. Despite recommendations to hand-wash, I have always put both parts in the top rack of the dishwasher and have had absolutely no problem with "funk" accumulating or the seals failing. They come out clean and odor-free. Perhaps, as other reviewers have noted, I am not as particular as others. I am disappointed to learn that the newer construction is not as hefty as the original. I plan to examine the new tumbler in the store before buying online.
the best December 10, 2008 Carleton Wu (Broadview Heights, OH United States) I love Thermos/Nissen vacuum insulated mugs. This 14oz is the perfect size for my morning coffee. It keeps my coffee fairly warm for the first 2 hours or so--after that, not really hot enough for me. The "ultimate" lid is not leak proof but it is good enough that if it tips over, I can quickly pick it up and there will be no spill. I have found that some leakproof mugs are harder to clean. This particular mug is a great one and a classic really. I must have 8 of them!
Good product, minor drawbacks December 6, 2008 DC (MD) I've used this once so far and it definitely keeps my coffee hot, which will be great when I want to take it to work or on a long drive. The lever is a little annoying, I'd prefer a traditional sliding piece over the sipping hole. You get a smaller amount of liquid coming out, which might be good so you don't spill it all over yourself. Also when I sip, my nose touches the cap and I smell the plastic (unless I hold my breath, of course). I really don't like that since it interferes with tasting my delicious coffee, and I hope it will go away with more washings. I can tell this keeps liquid insulated. I put very hot coffee in it, and could feel no difference in the outside temperature of the mug. It does what it says!
Not as advertised September 8, 2008 Larry Wilson (Ga.) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
This item was supposed to be spill proof. I filled it with water and laid it on it's side and to my suprise water started leaking out. I bought this item so that I didn't have to worry about caring it through the house on my way to work without spilling coffee on my carpet. Sent it back immediately.
