Providing 200 square inches of cooking space, this electric griddle cooks family-size meals right on the counter and then goes safely into the dishwasher. The griddle is heavy aluminum for spreading heat quickly and uniformly and is coated with nonstick so pancakes, eggs, burgers, and fish fillets release easily. An adjustable heat control inserts into the griddle's side. It has a dial that adjusts from 200 to 400 degrees F, and the griddle's large, removable drip tray has a guide to cooking various foods printed on its handle. Both the tray and the griddle's attached stand are made of rugged, gleaming black plastic. The cooking surface measures 17-1/2 by 11-1/2 inches.  The Griddle is Ok...but.... November 23, 2008

The non-stick surface seems to be really good...much better than on the previous griddle I had. However...I am not exactly thrilled with the heating. There seems to be a lot of overshoot when it first heats up. It takes about 15 minutes for it to settle down. Also, it does not heat as evenly as I would like. Although, it is much better than the previous griddle. I have used better in the past...I have used worse.

My first griddle was a Hamilton Beach and it lasted almost 16 years. It was so non-stick I never used any oil on it, not even for eggs. I bought a Presto model to replace it and was extremely disappointed in the way everything stuck to its rough surgace. Clean-up was nearly impossible. I threw it in the garbage and ordered this Hamilton Beach StepSavor model. The non-stick surface is every bit as good as on my old griddle. I no longer need to use any oil and clean-up is super easy. If you are looking for a non-stick griddle, Hamilton Beach is your best bet.

This griddle is fantastic. It has a large space enough space too cook eggs, bacon, and 4 large pancakes at a time. It also isn't too big where it takes up too much counter space since my kitchen isn't too large. This is a big step up from using skillets for each item and very easy to clean.
Highly rated!

Update: August 13, 2008. New griddle (2nd one) works great. My step-daughter has not had any problems with this one. She loves that she can cook many things at one time. This is just the perfect size for her family of 5. She loves pancakes and this was just the right gift for her. Hopefully, this one will keep working. I would now give this griddle 5 Stars...
Ordered this for my step-daughter. She loved it until it decided to stop working. We are sending the defective one back and are waiting for the new one to arrive. Hopefully, there will be no issues with it. Waiting to see if all goes well and then will change this review to 5 stars.
